Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Civvie (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Civvie is a civic engagement platform that aggregates and summarizes public government documents, meeting agendas, transcripts, and local news. We use artificial intelligence to create summaries and match content to your interests. The Service is designed to help residents stay informed about local government activity.
User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts
- You may not use the Service for any illegal purpose
Content and AI Summaries
Source Material
We aggregate publicly available government documents and news articles. All original content belongs to its respective sources, and we provide links to original documents.
AI-Generated Summaries
Our summaries are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors or omissions. They are provided for convenience and should not be considered authoritative. Always refer to original source documents for official information.
No Legal Advice
Nothing on Civvie constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice. For matters requiring professional guidance, consult appropriate experts.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or collect data without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use the Service to spread misinformation
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Subscription and Payment
Civvie offers both free and premium subscription tiers. During our beta period, all features are available for free. When premium features are introduced:
- Subscriptions are billed monthly
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
- Refunds are provided at our discretion
Intellectual Property
The Civvie name, logo, and original software are our intellectual property. Government documents and news content remain the property of their original publishers. Our AI-generated summaries are provided for personal, non-commercial use.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY CONTAIN INACCURACIES. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CIVVIE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR USE.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through Settings.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of El Paso County, Colorado.
